Understands the superintendent’s job and the board’s role in school district leadership.
COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAMS
Will help sustain/expand curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs that engage students.
Knows that activities such as athletics, performing arts, marching band, orchestra, robotics, and vocational skills competitions prepare students for working with others to achieve common goals.
Will champion points of pride including music, Academic Masters and GPHS Performing Arts Center.
Will help maintain/enhance a full range of academic as well as career and technical education programs.
Believes we cannot pit career education against college preparation because we must prepare our students to succeed in both.
STUDENT SUCCESS
Believes all students can learn, graduate and succeed with support from families, schools and community.
Supports helping students overcome obstacles in transportation, food insecurity and behavior to prepare them for high-quality education.
Supports life-planning skills developed through GPHS Career Academy and alternative programs such as GP-Flex and Gladiola HS, which increase graduation rates.
